How do you determine which stylist is best for you?
Many salons charge you differently using terms like "owner," "junior," "senior" and "advanced" in front of the word stylist. At Veda we have learned over the years that experience is very important but talent is the utmost top of the skills levels. We leave junior/senior for son, father and grandfather. Titles don't do anything for you. We perform the service or services you request until you are completely satisfied. (For Example: We all know the story of two artists who were graduated from the same art school and one starts selling $50,000 paintings almost instantly and the other can't achieve any success at all.
This is the theory behind our hiring and pricing. We don't hire experience, we hire talent. If a hair stylist/colorist can't make it here in the first few weeks and causes lots of unhappy clients and a lot of do-overs we unfortunately have to let that person go. Talent and a person's skill level show immediately and you can't fake them, just like you can't fake personality. You either have them or you don't. In some cases talent can be trained and/or learned, but natural, in-born talent is unique gift. We do base our pricing on a combination of talent (demand level) and experience and try to maintain a team that will accommodate most budgets. Do yourself a favor and ask your current hair stylist what and when was the last class they took on cutting or color techniques. You will be amazed to find that the last class many stylists had was cosmetology school when they first received their license. Great hair skills shouldn't come from "on the job training," with your hair as the teacher. To see a stylist like this is the worst disservice you can do to yourself.

How do we price our services for different stylists? (continued)
As a stylist's talent helps them to build and develop a following, the prices for their services are adjusted upwards. We still have to stay in the ballpark for the community and we also have to give you value for the price you pay. Fairness in pricing for the skill level of your stylist is our main goal. Continuing education is also a must for us. The area in which the salon is located also determines the prices and a top of the line salon in Gainesville, Fl would not be able to charge the same as an upscale salon on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. When you call us for the first time to make an appointment we will do our best to place you with someone who can give you the look you want and offer suggestions that enhance and compliment your appearance and stay within your budget.
